Holiday overview

New at HF Holidays

If this is your first time painting or using this medium or if you wish to improve on existing skills, be assured Sophia will show you just how easily these vibrant oils can be used to create a colourful and inspiring work of art.  This unique painting method involves applying wet oil on top of wet oil without waiting for each layer to dry.  This makes it possible to blend paints together so that a picture is produced as effortlessly as possible.

Guidance will be offered at all times  so that you experience for yourself the excellent effects that can be produced.  You are welcome to ask questions at any time so that Sophia can offer plenty of tips and advice. Her aim is for you to have fun and to surprise yourself with what can be achieved with these versatile oils whilst discovering your own unique style.

Itinerary

Arrival Day

You can check in to your room from 2.30pm onwards (better and best rooms from 1pm). Please join us for afternoon tea. All guests are invited – we’ll introduce your leader and welcome you to your holiday.

Day 2:

Today is our introduction to this colourful and inspirational medium in which Sophia will show you just how easily these vibrant oils can be used to create an effective landscape.   There will be plenty of tips and advice on hand and by the end of the day you will have completed a painting.

Day 3:

We will start the day with a demonstration in which Sophia will display the use of a different wet-on-wet oil background which is particularly expressive when used to create trees and moving water, whether it be waterfalls, rivers or seas. You will then be guided as a group in discovering this for yourself allowing your confidence to build further.

Day 4:

Our last day and a final opportunity to paint something different.  We will chat about our discoveries so far and decide upon a final landscape whether we go for something entirely different or expand further on what we have already done.  By the time you finish, you’ll realise how easily new ideas and styles can be applied leaving you with the wish to explore this medium further. We'll also have the opportunity, if you wish, to exhibit our final pieces of work during the evening for the other guests to enjoy.

Departure Day

Depart after a leisurely breakfast.

What to Bring

  • Three 24”x18” canvas or mount boards
  • Bob Ross Liquid White and a Liquid Clear
