Our house-based Leisure Activities include an in-house lunch (generally soup, sandwiches etc).

The relaxed dinner is a highlight of any stay at our Country Houses. With tables seating up to 10 and no seating plan, it offers a great opportunity to get to know your fellow guests. There is always a choice of dishes for every course, featuring good British cooking and often local specialities. A vegetarian option is always available.

A walk leader kindly checked us in as no staff were available. Please see below re service issues. I would not book with HF again and was embarrassed to have done so as my companion was equally disappointed.

Product review:

The room was awful, decor and furniture dated and worn, shower had black mould, on noisy street and smelt musty. Also strange wooden box housing an old gas meter inside the room. Wind rush not a cottage rather a run down annex. Very depressing we left after night 2. Food shockingly bad, we only ate at house on 1st night even though we had paid for all inclusive. When asked if food ok I gave the server honest feedback, her only response was a defensively toned 'sorry,' she then walked off. HF need to improve their product to bring it in line with other properties. This was a huge disappointment and I felt awful for my companion as he paid five hundred pounds for what ended up as a two night stay in a horrible room.
Thank you for your feedback.

It is with disappointment that I read that you and your companion did not enjoy your stay at Bourton. This is one of our popular houses and HF pride ourselves on offering enjoyable holiday experiences and I am so sorry if this was not the case on this occasion.

I will look into this for you and email you privately.

I do hope that we will be able to welcome you on another HF holiday in the future.

Kind regards
Toni
