Under the Rules of the Society, applications for membership must be made in writing. A payment for £100 for 100 x £1 shares will also have to be made in order to formally become an HF Member.

Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you to request payment either by cheque or by bank transfer. In order to allow us the time needed to exercise governance under the Rules of the Society, while your membership is pending approval, you’ll receive an automated acknowledgement on submission of this form.

The following provides information about owning Withdrawable Share Capital and about the objects and activities of the Society, criteria for Membership of HF Holidays as presented in the Rules of the Society


IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT WITHDRAWABLE SHARE CAPITAL (WSC)

  • Each share is worth £1, the value does not go up or down.
  • WSC can be withdrawn for its cash value on written request.
  • The Board of Directors has the authority to suspend withdrawals for a fixed term or indefinitely in the interests of the Society.
  • WSC does not give a member a share in the value of the Society.
  • The shares do not form the basis for the distribution of surplus.
  • The shares do not carry votes in proportion to the shares.
  • If the Society is unable to meet its debts/liabilities, the amount held in shares is at risk and therefore may not be the best place to keep your savings.
  • The Financial Services Compensation Scheme does not apply to your Share Account

Rule 6 OBJECTS

The objects of the Society shall be –

6.1 To carry on the business of providing holidays, services and facilities in furtherance of the objects set out in Rule 6.2:
6.2 To encourage and promote –
6.2.1 the healthy enjoyment of leisure, physical recreation, and the open air, with particular emphasis on walking; 
6.2.2 education and culture;
6.2.3 social and international friendship and understanding between people of all ages and backgrounds; and
6.2.4 appreciation and conservation of the environment and nature’s resources.
