Responsible Tourism
HF Holidays supports a range of projects helping to protect our environment and improving access to the countryside for future generations to enjoy. We have laways been committe to acting as a responsible operator, and community is at the heart of everything we do.
Bringing people together through memorable holidays in the UK and around the world, is what we do. We recognise that action is needed to protect and preserve the destinations we visit. We want to lead the way in developing holidays that are truly sustainable.
Examples of our environmental practices:
- HF Holidays currently work with and donate to a number of organisations including Air Ambulances, Ramblers and Mountain Rescue teams
Green Tourism is an organisation that HF Holidays have been working with since 2016 initially with our country house Derwent Bank in the Northern Lake District. It is an accreditation & grading based programme that looks at all aspects of sustainability, water efficiency, waste management, & biodiversity to social & ethical choices across Tourism businesses. Following an assessment either a Bronze, Silver or Gold grading is awarded.
Following the success at Derwent Bank where our team achieved a Silver grading, we rolled the programme out to all the UK country houses in 2017.
Since January, our team have been working towards their assessments & a number have now been assessed with more planned for the remainder of the year.
We are all really proud of the achievements to date and a lot of work has been done at the houses in addition to looking after all our guests. If you would like any further information on the programme, please visit the website www.green-tourism.org
