Looking back and moving forward
On the 25 March 2017 the 103rd Annual General Meeting of HF Holidays was held at The Dome, Buxton.
Our guest speaker was Fiona Howie (pictured), Chief Executive of Campaign for National Parks (CNP) who gave us a great insight into the work of the CNP, an umbrella organisation focussed on securing National Parks for the nation.
Special General Meeting
At the Special General Meeting a Motion was carried to amend the Rules of the Society to extend the deadline for receiving nominations from candidates for election to the Board of Directors from 31 October to 31 December and to allow members to receive General Meeting documents by electronic means in the future.
Confirmation of the Report of the Annual General Meeting: 9 April 2016
The meeting accepted the 2016 Annual General Meeting Minutes as an accurate record of that Meeting subject to an amendment in terms of the contribution made by Mrs Gomersall to the discussion.
Annual Report and Accounts 2016
Members present accepted the Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 October 2016, as proposed by Chair, Malcolm Oliver and seconded by Director, David Brown.
Interest at 1.5% was approved for members with a minimum of 100 shares at 31 October.
President & Vice Presidents
Following an introduction by Board Director Steven Booth, he sought approval for Helen Boaden as President and Peter Boulter, John Cass, Kevin White, David Gray and Harry Wroe as Vice Presidents for the ensuing year. All were approved by acclamation.
Announcement of candidates declared elected to the Board of Directors
There were seven candidates and four vacancies to the Board of Directors for the coming year, the fourth one being due to Nick Frankgate standing down before the end of his four year term. The candidate polling the fourth highest number of votes will serve a term of two years. The candidates elected to the board were: -
Wendy Sudbury - 2,231 votes
Cheryl Hunnisett - 2,034 votes
Stephan Swift - 1,937 votes
Steve Bishop - 1,526 votes
Appreciation and thanks were given to the outgoing Chair, Malcolm Oliver and Board Directors, Bob Gomersall and Alan Dixon.
The AGM was rounded off with a gala dinner for members staying at the Peveril of the Peak, Dovedale.
HF Holidays was proud to welcome partnership exhibitors: Cotswold Outdoors and Paramo, alongside our very own Pathways Fund stand which featured the Family Holidays Association and Campaign for National Parks.

Annual General Meeting & Celebration weekend 2018
Next year's Annual General Meeting will be held at The Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton on Saturday 14 April 2018.
