Our main activity is walking. There are four walks on Wednesdays ranging from 5/6 miles, 7/8 miles, 9/10 miles and 10+ miles. There are walks each week on Saturday and Sunday. During the summer we hold a weekly Thursday evening walk and have a monthly challenge walk. Whilst some walks are in the Bolton area we also travel further afield in Lancashire and visit The Lakes, Yorkshire and the Peak District.

Chester Rambling and Hill Walking Club

The club was established in 1895 and has provided a regular walking programme ever since. We are based in Darwen, but walk within the areas of the West Pennine Moors, Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dale with the occasional forays into the Lakes and Peak District. During the summer the walks are fortnightly on a Saturday commencing at 11:00am. We also organise fortnightly evening walks commencing at 7:00pm during the summer. We operate a once a month winter programme on Saturdays starting at 11:00am.

Stockport Walkers is a well-established, large, friendly and sociable walking group with members from all walks of life.  Our programme provides a great range of 5 or 6 weekly walks, throughout the year, on three days a week, catering for all abilities. We are a small, friendly rambling club based in Torrisholme, Morecambe and walk every other week - alternating between half day and full day walks in Lancashire, Cumbria, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales. Transport is by coach with several pick up points. Full day walks start at 9am and half day walks start at 11am from The Church of the Ascension, Torrisholme. All ages and abilities welcome. We have three levels of walks ranging from 8-12 miles, 6-8 miles and 4-6 miles. We also have other social events - summer saunter, treasure trail and a dinner dance. During October - March we hold Wednesday evening social evenings and hotpot suppers. We also have a walking weekend holiday in April each year.

Our Club strives to provide opportunities for the healthy enjoyment of the countryside, in a spirit of friendship and fun. With over a hundred members from Doncaster and beyond, we organise walks every two weeks on alternate Sundays, visiting a wide range of locations in the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors and coast, the Yorkshire Wolds, Lincolnshire Wolds, the South Pennines, and Staffordshire. At each location we offer a choice of three guided walks of varying degrees of distance and difficulty. We provide transport to all of our walk locations by private coach, with members boarding and being dropped off at a number of points in and around Doncaster.

HF Sheffield Group was formed over 90 years ago. Currently, there are three rambling opportunities each week: Wednesday 6 - 8 miles; Saturday (A) 8 - 9 miles; (B) 5 - 6 miles. We pride ourselves on being a friendly group. From time to time various members of the group may organise other social activities. We are always open to suggestions for additional events or activities. Anyone interested in joining the group is welcome to walk with us on a few occasions before deciding whether they would like to become a member. Members pay a small annual subscription to cover our overheads. Our aim is not only to enjoy exercise and fresh air, but also to have time to enjoy the countryside we visit.

Every year we arrange a four night's stay at an HF Holidays' Country House for a walking holiday. At least forty or more members take part. During the year we arrange at least one guided walk for members each month, mostly fairly local but can be anywhere within reasonable driving distance and in the summer run additional shorter evening walks. Throughout the year we also hold a number of varied social events and assist in maintaining the local footpaths. All members are sent details of activities by email or post and all walks advertised locally.

North London HF Group

We are a friendly informal group which was established over 77 years ago. Originally there was more of a social element but when the club premises in Wembley were lost, it became primarily a walking club meeting at London Underground Tube and National Rail stations. HF Norwich is a Norwich based walking group, set up in 1933 and is affiliated to HF Holidays. The group has around 100 members and holds walks of between 8 and 10 miles on alternate Sundays, around most of Norfolk and North Suffolk. Formed 16 years ago but now being reconstituted, we are a club of sixty members and meet every Friday morning for a walk in our local area.  Our walks are generally between 6 and 9 miles with an average turn-out of about 2 dozen, but once a month we also have a "leisurely" walk of about 3 or 4 miles for those who prefer the social side of walking.  We also hold social events and groups of members holiday together in Britain and Europe.Most of our members are retired. Sussex Sunday Walkers is the new name for the Society of Sussex Wealdmen, a walking club founded in 1926. The LDWA is an association of people with the common interest of walking long distances in rural, mountainous or moorland areas. Dartmoor Rambling Club

Established in 1931 as a local group of HF Holidays, the Dartmoor Rambling Club continues to ramble across Dartmoor and elsewhere in Devon and Cornwall with a programme of Wednesday and weekend walks throughout the year. Our club has been running since 1938! We are affiliated to HF Holidays, Ramblers and Ramblers Worldwide Holidays Walking Partnership. Nailsea and District Group offers the opportunity to explore the beautiful around North Somerset. The Group offers a wide variety of walks for all ages and abilities including whole-day and half-day walks, both during the week and at weekends. The walks range from easy 4 mile strolls to more challenging rambles of up to 12 miles. Many walks are local but the programme also includes nearby beauty spots such as The Mendips, Quantocks, Cotswolds and Welsh Hills. Details of the walks are given in the programme, which is published three times a year, and can be found on the Group’s website. Local libraries and notice boards also advertise the walks. An important aim of the group is to encourage people to walk the definitive Rights of Way in Nailsea and adjoining parishes, and so enjoy the local countryside. In doing this they help to preserve and protect the many local footpaths, which are so often under threat. The Group also makes appropriate representations on issues where public rights of way are involved.

The Severnside Ramblers Group, formed in 1997, currently has around 150 members. We are a friendly and sociable group and arrange a variety of walks throughout the year. We organise weekends away, hold social events and work with the local council on footpath clearance and protection.

Our walking group is for the over 50s. Our walks take place on Wednesday mornings in the second and fourth weeks of each month for members in our catchment area of Flintshire, Wrexham and Denbighshire, hence our name NEW meaning North East Wales. Our walks are from four to six miles in duration and are graded difficult, moderate and easy.
