Craft Workshop:

Spend time making your very own spring wreath. All the materials, equipment and tuition will be provided for you to make a seasonal wreath using foliage, flowers and seed heads. Come away with a beautiful wreath that will be much admired by friends and neighbours when it graces your front door. No experience is necessary as there will be a step-by-step demonstration of each stage.

You will be allocated a morning or afternoon two to three-hour workshop session with craft tutor, Bea from much-loved local Church Stretton florist John R Thomas. The rest of your time is free for you to do as you please. Perhaps explore the local area, or if you prefer, you could visit our dedicated Discovery Point to enjoy one of our self-guided walks.

Get ready to learn the fundamentals of macramé; an ancient textile art that uses knotting techniques, rather than knitting or weaving, to create intricate decorative pieces. Your tutor will demonstrate the basics, and you will learn the core knots that form the basis of macramé. You’ll practice techniques such as the lark’s head, square knot, and half hitch, building confidence through repetition and rhythm. Along the way, you’ll explore tension, spacing, and how different knot combinations create pattern and texture.

You’ll apply your new skills to create your own macramé plant hanger. Your tutor will guide you through the process from start to finish; knotting, shaping, and assembling your piece. There will be room to personalise your design, adjusting length, spacing, or adding subtle variations to make it your own. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished plant hanger ready to display, along with the foundational skills to continue exploring macramé at home.

You will be allocated a morning or afternoon two to three-hour workshop session with our craft tutor, Jenna or Becky from Meraki Wenlock Craft Studio in nearby Much Wenlock. The rest of your time is free for you to do as you please. Perhaps explore the local area, or if you prefer, you could visit our dedicated Discovery Point to enjoy one of our self-guided walks.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before making your way home.
