A choice of walks every day
At our 16 HF Country Houses across the UK, you can choose any walk from the different guided walks options offered. At our partner hotels in the UK and overseas, you choose from two walks each day. Each is led by an experienced HF Leader or trusted local guide.
Each walk is graded between 1 to 6.

We’ll help you tackle some of the world’s most famous long-distance trails or simply enjoy a relaxing walking weekend with friends, family, or like-minded people.
What to expect on a UK guided walking holiday
As well as the incredible walking and scenery, one of the best things about an HF holiday is the people you meet. You walk in a group each day, share a table at dinner, and enjoy sociable evenings together playing games and quizzes, listening to talks or simply chatting over a drink at the bar. Guests who arrive on their own often go home having made many friends.
Many of our UK holidays are based at our country houses, set in some of Britain's best-loved national parks and National Landscapes, with a cream tea waiting when you arrive. Others are based at a carefully chosen partner hotel.
Our HF Leaders are a team of over 600 volunteers, each first-aid trained and assessed. In the UK every route is researched and walked in advance by our Field Advisors. Transport to and from each walk is arranged for you.
Guided walking holidays overseas
Our guided walking holidays in Europe and further afield are based in handpicked hotels and guesthouses. An HF Tour Manager will be with the group throughout while trusted local guides lead the walks. Some are centred on one or two bases, with a choice of walks at different distances each day; others follow a touring route, moving from place to place as you go, with sightseeing and free time built in.
Breakfast and most evening meals are included, and all transport in your destination is taken care of. The board basis is set out on each holiday page.
