ARRIVE ON YOUR OWN AND WALK IN A GROUP
Since 1913, HF Holidays has always welcomed solo guests. We are Britain's only walking holiday co-operative, owned by our 40,000 members, and on most holidays over 40% of guests are solo travellers.
Our walking holidays operate from our 16 UK country houses and partner hotels across Europe, with an experienced HF Holidays leader for every walk. You'll have your own ensuite room, and there's no single supplement on Classic rooms for HF Holidays Members, including on dedicated Solos departures.
Each day, your HF Holidays leaders offer up to three guided walks (two in our partner hotels). After a short briefing in the evening you choose which one to join on the following morning. Walks are graded 1 to 6.

What's included
Every HF holiday is full board. The price covers:
- Your own ensuite room for the duration of the holiday.
- All meals: cooked breakfast, packed lunch on walking days, three-course dinner each evening.
- Any one of the three guided walks that are offered each day, with an HF walking leader for each one.
- Welcome drinks reception on the first evening and a farewell dinner with drinks on the last.
- Full use of the country house grounds, lounges, bar, library and (where the house has them) drying rooms and boot stores.
Items separately priced: travel to and from the country house, drinks at dinner outside the welcome and farewell evenings, and any optional extras such as walking days off.

Your own room, and no single supplement on Classic rooms for HF Members
As a solo traveller on any HF walking holiday, you have your own ensuite room. There are two room types at our UK country houses:
Classic single room. An ensuite single for one guest. For HF Members there is no single supplement on Classic rooms at any of our 16 UK country houses. For non-members, the supplement is £10 per person per night.
Premium single room. Larger, often with a view or upgraded features. A modest supplement applies and varies by house and season
At our partner hotels in the UK and Europe, a limited number of single rooms are available, usually with a supplement that we show on each individual holiday's booking page. Single rooms at partner hotels can sell out quickly, so early booking is recommended.
Holidays exclusive for solo travellers
We have a small collection of holidays designed exclusively for guests travelling by themselves. Perfect if you are travelling alone for the first time or a seasoned solo walker, you'll find that people are easily brought together by a shared love of the great outdoors
