HF Holidays purchases new country house in Buxton - opening early 2027

I am delighted to share some exciting news. HF Holidays will be purchasing Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton, giving us a permanent country house base in the heart of the Peak District.

Buxton has long been a firm favourite with our members and guests. Having a home of our own there means we can strengthen and grow our Peak District walking programme for years to come, while continuing to create the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that makes HF Holidays special.

Owned by the same family for 70 years, Lee Wood is a 40-bed Georgian property in the historic spa town, with excellent rail connections and easy access to a wonderful variety of Peak District routes - great news for members who enjoy travelling by public transport or going car-free.

You may know our current Peak District country house, Peveril of the Peak, has always been a leased property. As a result of this purchase, we will not be renewing that lease when it ends in spring 2027.

We look forward to welcoming guests at Peveril of the Peak until the end of 2026, and we will support our team members with alternative opportunities across the HF Holidays estate as our lease comes to an end.

We will carry out a light refurbishment to bring Lee Wood in line with our nature-led, members-club style look and feel, while respecting the character of the building and its setting. We expect to welcome our first HF Holidays guests to Buxton in early 2027, with bookings opening this summer, and HF Members given priority access before sales open more widely.

In the meantime, Lee Wood Hotel will continue to operate as usual, with no immediate changes for the existing team, and we will engage with colleagues later in 2026 to discuss potential opportunities as plans progress.
