LEARN THE GAME OR SHARPEN IT, AT A HF COUNTRY HOUSE
A bridge holiday with us is part cards, part countryside. You'll play in the company of fellow enthusiasts, led by EBU-qualified directors who know how to bring on a beginner and stretch an old hand alike. Between sessions there's the rest of it to enjoy: a stay at one of our own country houses, set in some of Britain's best-loved national parks, with full-board dining, comfortable rooms, and the walking right outside the door. Whether you arrive with a regular partner or on your own, you'll be playing in good company from the first evening.
Learning and improving your bridge
If you're new to the game, our Introduction to Bridge breaks take you through the basics, the bidding, the play, the terminology, at a pace that never leaves you behind, with morning teaching sessions and friendly evening competitions to put it into practice. Already know your way around a hand? Improve your Bridge picks up where the basics leave off, building on what you know with new tactics and sharper play. Both are led by EBU-qualified teachers, in small, sociable groups where asking a question is always welcome.
Bridge and walking
For players who already have the game and want a holiday to match, these breaks pair the cards with the great outdoors. On a Bridge & Walking holiday you'll have a choice of two guided walks each day, led by an HF Leader, followed by a competition in the evening, and EBU members can earn Master Points along the way. Stay & Play Bridge keeps it relaxed, with no lessons or seminars, just good games among keen players and free afternoons to head out on a self-guided walk or simply enjoy the house. Either way, you get the rare combination of a full day's bridge and a proper walk in fine country.
