Our dedicated Solo Holidays are designed exclusively for single travellers. They offer the same inspiring itineraries as our popular group trips plus a few special touches to make your experience unforgettable.
At our HF Country Houses, your stay will be bookended by a welcome drinks reception, and a farewell dinner with drinks. Throughout the holiday, a Dedicated Solos Host will be on hand to help create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where connections come naturally.
Together you'll discover new places, meet like-minded people, and experience the joy of shared adventures.
Solo Holidays run year-round, mostly from our UK country houses, with seasonal Christmas and New Year departures, and a number of exclusive solo breaks in Europe too, including Malta, Croatia and Portugal.
Solo travellers, walking together
Whether you're new to travelling on your own or experienced, our holidays exclusively for solo travellers strike the perfect balance of independence and companionship in beautiful surroundings. You'll be in the company of other guests who have all booked on their own, welcomed with an afternoon cream tea, and breakfast and evening meals are enjoyed around sociable dining tables.
A dedicated Solos Host is with you throughout the holiday, hosting the welcome reception on the first evening and the farewell dinner on the last. On a Solo Walking Holiday the group walks together each day on one guided route led by an HF Leader.
Mingle in the bar and the lounge after dinner, and most houses run optional activities including quizzes, games, or a local-interest talk. Or, if you prefer some time to yourself, the gardens, lounges and libraries are always open for a relaxing retreat.
Solo breaks at our country houses
Some of the best walking in Britain starts right at the doorstep of our HF Country Houses. On most Solos Holidays, you'll be staying at one of our 16 country getaways which range from cosy Victorian manors and elegant Georgian mansions, to converted granaries, lakeside hideaways, and more.
Full-board comes as standard at our houses and every guest on a Solo Walking Holiday has their own ensuite room, with no supplement to pay in classic rooms. A supplement is payable for upgrade to premium and superior rooms.
