Welcome to your April 2024 edition of Footnotes

An announcement from our CEO, David Harrington
A few weeks ago, I informed the Board of my intention to retire as CEO of HF Holidays effective 1 December 2024, after 40 years with the Society.
This has been a difficult and emotional decision, marking the end of a much-cherished career that has seen four head offices, six CEOs, three lockdowns, and the celebration of our company's 100-year anniversary. During my tenure I've also had the pleasure of getting to know many excellent co-workers, leaders, and members, all of whom have enriched my working life.
It has been an absolute privilege to lead HF Holidays and help advance the Society’s mission of offering shared experiences in the great outdoors. I am proud to leave the Society in a stable place to seize the opportunities of the future. I see only exciting things ahead for HF Holidays and will continue to remain committed to the business until my departure.
The Board has now started the search for a new CEO and the recruitment process will be managed by C&M Travel Recruitment.
I extend my thanks to everyone for the support you have given me. I'm not hanging up my boots but rather hoping to put them on more to enjoy the fells.
Thank you for everything, mostly your unwavering commitment to HF Holidays.
David

Brand new holidays launched
We’re always looking for innovative ways to inspire those with a passion for travel. That’s why we’ve created a whole host of new holidays and experiences that tick boxes for fun, fresh air, and the feelgood factor.
Soak up some winter sun in Malta or Cyprus. Shop the magical Christmas markets of Austria. Chase the Northern Lights across Norway. Or enjoy a snowy mountain rail adventure in the Swiss Alps. We’re also thrilled to announce one of our most adventurous trips yet - to the volcano-strewn paradise islands of Hawaii.
Closer to home, why not try one of our Guided Birdwatching Breaks in Northumberland or learn a few new moves in the Peak District or Yorkshire Dales with a Come & Dance weekend led by over 50s British dance champions, John and Linda West.
Here’s an exclusive look at our brand-new holidays, all of which were launched last week.
